Receiving a pension: incorrectly filled in employment record book and lack of confirmation of qualifications

Volodymyr* has worked hard all his life, building a career and is confident in his right to a pension. However, after submitting the necessary documents to the Main Department of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Volyn Oblast, he was unexpectedly denied a pension. The reason was an incorrectly completed employment record book and a lack of documentary evidence of qualifications.

Volodymyr turned to the lawyers of the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) for legal assistance. The organisation's specialist thoroughly analysed the situation, identified errors in the decision of the state body and prepared a statement of claim to the court.

In the statement, the lawyer proved the unlawfulness of the Pension Fund's actions, provided arguments and evidence confirming the completeness and compliance of the submitted documents.

After hearing the case, the court ruled in Volodymyr's favour: the refusal was cancelled, his pensionable service was credited, he was granted a pension and the court fee paid was recovered.

This day brought Volodymyr real relief. Thanks to the support of DRC specialists, he received a well-deserved pension.
