This year, the children of defenders can receive a one-time financial assistance from the state for education in the 2025/26 academic year at vocational pre-university and higher education institutions.

Who can get help?

  • Children of fallen (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine.
  • Children of people with disabilities as a result of war.
  • Children of combatants.
  • Children of persons missing under special circumstances.
  • Children of persons in respect of whom the fact of deprivation of personal liberty as a result of war has been established.
  • Children of affected participants of the Revolution of Dignity.

Prerequisites:

🛂Citizenship of Ukraine.

📅Under 23 years old.

What amount of assistance can you expect?

Financial assistance from the state fully covers the cost of education set by the educational institution for the academic year in which state aid is provided.

Where to apply for assistance?

There is no need to send an application. All children who meet the criteria will automatically receive a certificate offering financial assistance through the Diia mobile app.

To get a certificate, make sure you have:

  • The Diia mobile app installed on your smartphone.
  • Passed electronic identification.

How to get assistance?

After receiving the certificate, you can agree to receive financial assistance or refuse to receive it in the Diia app.

You have 20 calendar days to make a decision from the date of receipt of the certificate.

You can agree and receive assistance using Diia.Signature.

✒  Diia.Signature is a modern alternative to an electronic digital signature (EDS) that allows you to sign documents remotely. There is no need to install anything separately — everything accessible through the Diia app.

If there is no Diia.Signature, you must:

  • Open to the Diia.Signature function in the Diia app on your smartphone;
  • Click "Activate Diia.Signature" and complete verification using photo identification;
  • Come up with and remember a five-digit code for signing.

The consent will be submitted to the Ministry of Veterans and the Ministry will transfer money directly to the educational institution where the child is studying, in respect of whom the decision to provide state aid was made.

Important: we advise you to check with the administration of the educational institution about the receipt of funds to avoid issues of expulsion from the educational institution for non-payment due to possible delays in budgetary funds.
