Is it possible to get sick pay while abroad?

To get a sick pay if you are abroad, you need to:

1. seek medical care from a local doctor; and

2. obtain documentary evidence of medical care and the fact of temporary disability.

This can be a certificate or an extract, which indicates your diagnosis.

You can get a sick pay in case of: 

- general illness or injury;

- caring for a sick child;

- pregnancy and childbirth; and

- orthopedic prosthetics.

3. contact your doctor in Ukraine and send the documents received from the foreign doctor.

Based on the provided documents, your doctor will issue a medical certificate of temporary disability, which confirms the fact of temporary disability and is the basis for issuing an electronic sick pay (E-sick pay).
