The Constitution of Ukraine guarantees free advice from a lawyer or other legal professional. National laws and bylaws prescribe and specify the procedure for providing legal aid, and determine the list of persons who can apply for it and in what cases. Legal services allow Ukrainian citizens, foreigners, and stateless persons to fully protect their rights from violation.
The easiest way to access a lawyer online for free is to use the state system of free legal aid. This is an extensive system of bureaus operating in all regions of the country. In addition to established stationary centers, there are mobile centers that periodically visit settlements remote from the regional center: people who cannot leave their current place of residence or have access to an Internet connection can get legal advice there.
Free online legal advice is also available via messengers and in chats on official social media pages. Lawyers can also consult by phone. In this format, it will not be possible to represent a client in court or other government agencies (GAs), local governments (LGs), but the initial consultation is easy.
In addition to government offices, free legal services can be obtained at the offices of non-governmental international organizations. They guarantee legal advisors a stable salary while keeping legal advice free of charge.
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is considered the largest non-governmental organization in Denmark. It is one of the few institutions that specializes primarily in the problems of internally displaced people. The company has official representative offices in 40 countries, including Ukraine. One of the free services provided by DRC is a free legal consultation in Ukraine. Depending on where the lawyer works, legal issues can be resolved offline or online. Also, everyone who turns to a specialist has the right to count on support of their case from start to finish without payment (in some cases, fees may be required by government agencies in case of submission of documents, requests, but this is not the lawyer's fee).
The Danish Refugee Council lists other advantages of applying to free lawyers:
An online legal consultation in Ukraine is free of charge, and you can also arrange a meeting in another country if that is where the specialist is currently localized.
