What changes to the mechanism were introduced regarding the automatic granting of PiH status?

Since 2024, PiH status for defenders serving since 2014 (excluding the Security Service and special services) is granted automatically via the Unified State Register of War Veterans, regardless of the length of combat missions. Unit clerks or authorised staff must enter the data within five days of deployment; commanders are responsible for its accuracy. If data is incomplete or inconsistent, the request is returned once for corrections; unresolved cases are sent to the commission of Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
