What free services can I get from a family doctor/therapist/paediatrician?

You can get the following services free of charge under the Medical Guarantee Programme:

1. Appointment of laboratory tests, in particular

  • general blood test
  • general urine analysis;
  • measurement of blood glucose and cholesterol levels.

2. Diagnosis and treatment of the most common diseases, injuries, poisonings and other conditions.

3. Vaccination in accordance with the Schedule of preventive vaccinations:

  • vaccination against diphtheria, measles, tetanus, polio and other infectious diseases.

4. Consultations on:

  • healthy lifestyle;
  • Disease prevention;
  • health monitoring.

5. Pregnancy monitoring, if it is uncomplicated.

6. Referrals to other doctors, in particular to specialist doctors.

7. Prescribing medications:

  • under the reimbursement programme ‘Affordable Medicines’ (in particular, medicines for the treatment of diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, bronchial asthma).

8. Preparation of documents, including:

  • sick leave certificates (sick leave);
  • medical certificates (for study, work, etc.);
  • referral to a medical and social expert commission (MSEC).

9. Basic instrumental examinations, e.g:

  • electrocardiogram (ECG);
  • measurement of blood pressure and pulse.

10. Supervision of patients with chronic diseases:

  • regular monitoring of health status;
  • correction of treatment.
