What documents must a guardian have to travel abroad?

Share

A guardian who accompanies a person under his or her care must have the following documents with him or her:

  1. A decision on the appointment of a guardian (an official document confirming the status of a guardian).
  2. A document confirming kinship (birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc.) if a guardian has not been officially appointed.
  3. A court decision declaring the person incapacitated or with limited capacity.
  4. Documents confirming the ward's disability (a certificate from a medical and social expert commission or other relevant medical documents).

Important:

  • All documents must be in original or notarised copies.
  • Border guards may require additional confirmation depending on the individual circumstances and needs of the ward.
  • If necessary, you should contact the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine to clarify the current list of documents.
