What documents are required to cross the border of Ukraine?

1. For citizens of Ukraine:

• A foreign passport of a citizen of Ukraine; or
• Internal passport of a citizen of Ukraine.

2. For minor children:

• Birth certificate (for children under 16).
• From the age of 16, a child can cross the border on his/her own on general grounds if he/she has
• A foreign passport; or
• Internal passport of a citizen of Ukraine.

3. For persons liable for military service:

• Border crossing for persons liable for military service is restricted during martial law.
• Persons who have the right to leave in accordance with Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine "On Mobilisation Preparation and Mobilisation" (e.g. parents with many children, persons with disabilities, reserved specialists, etc.) must present documents confirming the reason for leaving.
