How to register for pregnancy?

Share

To register for pregnancy, you need to go to a public or private healthcare facility.

Documents required:

  • passport of a citizen of Ukraine (or other identity document);
  • a declaration from your family doctor (if you go to a public healthcare facility).

The procedure for registration:

  1. Contact the chosen medical institution (public or private).
  2. The doctor will conduct an initial examination, confirm the pregnancy and formulate an individual pregnancy management plan.
  3. The healthcare provider will issue a pregnancy exchange card (form No. 113/о) containing basic information about the woman's health status and examinations.

Important:

  • Free medical care: Pregnancy care is free of charge in a public institution or in a private healthcare facility that has a contract with the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU).
  • Recommended period: It is advisable to register before the 12th week of pregnancy. This allows for timely examinations and reduces the risks for mother and child.
  • For internally displaced persons (IDPs): Pregnant women who have moved due to hostilities have the right to receive medical care free of charge in any institution that has an agreement with the NHSU.

How do I find a hospital for pregnancy?

  • Call the NHSU contact centre at 16-77.
  • Find out the opening hours of the medical facility and make an appointment.
