Special programs for Ukrainians in Italy

Citizens from Ukraine can travel for free within the territory of Italy within 5 days from the moment of entry into the country to the first destination of their trip or to the place of reception.

Psychological support

There is a free psychological support: the Red Cross hotline for providing psychological assistance to temporarily displaced citizens of Ukraine: 800 065 510.

Transport

The administration of the region provides refugees with a ticket for city transport.

For free travel on all types of public transport (bus, metro, suburban trains) it is necessary to present an individual regional STP/ENI card or other travel documents issued by operators of refugee reception centres.

Financial assistance and payments

Citizens of Ukraine who arrived to Italy after 24 February 2022, found housing on their own and applied to the competent authorities for temporary protection will be able to receive financial assistance.

The maximum period during which such assistance is to be provided constitutes 3 months.

For this, it is necessary to specify:

- an identification number received in the quaestura (codice fiscale);

- an e-mail address; and

- a phone number.

Persons who benefit from international, temporary or special protection and are attending a basic course of Italian language and culture, a vocational training course or who are already cooperating with an Employment Agency can:

- submit a request to cover the costs of things necessary to care for a child under the age of 3, in the amount of up to EUR 800. You can make one request per child; and

- receive payments of up to EUR 200 per person, to reimburse the costs of psychological treatment for themselves or for their relatives.
