Incapacitated family members who were dependent on a person missing in special circumstances are entitled to a survivor’s pension. Furthermore, they will be entitled to a pension regardless of the length of the missing person's pensionable service.
Persons missing in special circumstances while serving in the military are also entitled to the protections afforded by the Law of Ukraine on Social and Legal Protection of Military Personnel and Their Family Members and other legislative acts of Ukraine, in particular:
● monthly payment of cash support;
● sanatorium-resort voucher at a discounted price no more than once a year;
● out-of-turn provision of housing if they require improvement of their living conditions;
● 50% discount of a housing rent and utilities within the established standards;
● provision of land plots and assistance in the construction of private residential buildings;
● out-of-competition admission of children, within three years after they have received general secondary education, to state and municipal higher and vocational training institutions in Ukraine out of state and local budgets;
● the parents of military personnel will have the right to travel free on all types of municipal public passenger transport (except for taxis);
payment of one-time monetary compensation to parents and minor children, as well as to children with disabilities since childhood, of military personnel.
