Documents – passport of a citizen of Ukraine for travelling abroad (for each family member).
Duration – up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
Opportunities – the right to short-term stay, tourism, language courses for up to 90 days, etc.
Visa regime
The visa regime applies depending on the purpose of the trip to the Republic of Lithuania.
In general, visas are divided into long-term (Visa-D), short-term (Visa-C) and transit (Visa-B).
Transit visas
The permitted duration of stay is up to 5 days, valid for transit through the international transit zones of one or more airports of the Schengen Member States.
Short-stay visas
A visit for up to 90 days (tourist, business, family visa).
Long-term visas
A visit for more than 90 days (student, work visa).
The package of documents differs depending on the visa category.

Temporary protection
Temporary protection status is confirmed by a temporary residence permit.
A temporary residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania is issued for 1 year with the possibility of extension for another 1 year.
Eligibility criteria
You can obtain temporary protection if you are:
o a citizen of Ukraine; or
o a family member of a Ukrainian citizen; and
o your main place of residence was in Ukraine before 24 February 2022.
List of persons recognised as family members:
o husband or wife;
o an underage unmarried child;
o other close relatives who lived in the same apartment and were dependent on any of the above persons.
Documents:
o identity document (passport or international passport);
o additionally, for family members, a document confirming kinship (e.g. marriage certificate or birth certificate for a child).
The procedure for obtaining the status
Starting from the beginning of 2023, a temporary residence permit for all Ukrainian war refugees in the Republic of Lithuania will be issued only in digital format.
To do this, you need to submit an online application on the website of the Department of Migration.
A video instruction is available by following the link. Such persons will need to visit the selected visitor service department of the Department of Migration once.

After verification of the information, you will be informed of the decision remotely.
You will receive your digital permits, which will be valid from the date of their issuance, in the created electronic accounts.
Important!
The Republic of Lithuania does not grant refugee status to persons temporarily displaced from Ukraine.
