Rights of relatives and family members of persons who have disappeared under special circumstances

Close relatives and family members of a person who has gone missing in special circumstances have the following rights:

 

• to obtain reliable information about the whereabouts of the person missing in special circumstances, as well as the circumstances of his/her death, and burial place (if known);

 

• to submit a search application to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and obtain reliable information about the search progress;

 

• if both of the child's parents have gone missing in special circumstances, the child will be placed under custody/guardianship;

 

• if the person missing in special circumstances had dependants being adults who, due to their health condition, are unable to exercise their rights and fulfil their duties on their own, the dependants will be placed under custody.
