An employee performs military service under a contract for several years. Does the employer have to pay him his average salary for the period of service?

No, the employer is not obliged to pay the average salary to an employee who has been performing military service under a contract for several years.
According to the current legislation, starting from July 19, 2022, the employer retains only the place of work and position, but not the average salary.
The average salary was paid only until 18 July 2022, inclusive, before the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Optimization of Labor Relations” came into force.
