In Ukraine, the amount of child support can be determined as a percentage of one parent's earnings (income).
Determining the percentage: The court establishes the percentage of the earnings (income) of the mother or father that will be deducted as child support. The size of this percentage depends on the specific circumstances of the case and may vary.
Recommended percentages: Legislation provides indicative percentages for determining alimony:
For one child: 1/4 (25%) of income.
For two children: 1/3 (33.3%) of income.
For three or more children: 1/2 (50%) of income.
Maximum amount: The amount of child support cannot exceed 10 times the minimum subsistence level for a child of the corresponding age. As of 2024, this amount is:
For children up to 6 years old: 25,630 UAH.
For children aged 6 to 18 years: 31,960 UAH.
Procedure for determination:
Filing a claim: One parent files a claim in court for the collection of alimony as a percentage of the other parent's income.
Case review: The court reviews the provided evidence and determines the amount of alimony, taking the aforementioned factors into account.
