1. If the child was born within 10 months after the marriage was terminated:

  • The man with whom the marriage was terminated is considered the father, unless the woman is remarried.

2. Recognition of paternity:

  • By joint application of the child's mother and father:
  • The application can be submitted before or after the birth of the child to the civil registry office.
  • If personal submission is not possible, the application may be submitted:
  • Through a representative (on the basis of a notarised power of attorney);
  • By post (subject to notarisation of the application).
  • By court decision:
  • If there is a dispute over paternity or the person denies his or her paternity, paternity can be established through a court of law.
