If you are granted temporary asylum, you are free to return to Ukraine or travel to other EU countries. If you are granted refugee status during the application process (which can take several months), you are not permitted to leave the country where the procedure is taking place.
Temporary protection in the EU, unlike refugee status, does not limit a person's choice of residence. As a result, resettlers are free to return to Ukraine at any time. Because the maximum possible period of stay outside of Spain is not specified, it is best to consult with the municipality of your region regarding the possibility of leaving on the desired date.
Important!
A temporary residence permit is not a travel document, but rather a document that legalizes residence in Spain. However, you can continue to travel with your foreign passport if the destination country allows it.
For example, you can still travel within the European Union for up to 90 days within a 180-day period, but you can only use the rights granted by temporary protection in the member state where you were granted permission to reside. In any case, a permit for temporary residence is a legal permission to reside in Spain, which means that you can return to Spain at any time during its validity and also move (but not reside) in other European Union countries for a limited time.
