Ukraine's citizens enter the Czech Republic territory based on a visa-free regime.
After your arrival, you need to inform the migration authorities of the Czech Republic about your arrival. You can do this at one of the regional centres (https://prod.frs.gov.cz/krajske-centrum-pomoci-kacpu-ua/) during the subsequent temporary protection registration, or at the Police for Foreigners in the nearest department to you (in case of stay for another purpose for more than three days).
In the regional centre for Assistance to Ukrainians, they issue and extend an existing temporary protection visa in the Czech Republic until March 31, 2024; new arrivals are provided with free medical insurance (for 150 days), and if necessary, they help to find housing, work, a school for children, offer temporary financial assistance, etc. Absolutely all the services you receive in this centre are free of charge.
Registration of citizens of Ukraine at the Regional Assistance Centres is carried out using any identity document (including an expired one):
- foreign passport,
- biometric foreign passport,
- biometric ID card.
If you do not want to register for temporary protection, you can stay in the Czech Republic for up to 90 days based on a visa-free regime. In this case, you need to purchase commercial health insurance.
Citizens of Ukraine can extend the validity of their foreign passport (not earlier than two months before its expiration) for up to 5 years. This service is provided free of charge by prior online appointment on the website of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic (Prague) via the link.
