Categories of men who can cross the border under escort:

1. Accompanying a wife from among persons with disabilities:

  • The spouse has no other able-bodied persons obliged to support her.

2. Accompanying one of the parents of the husband or wife from among persons with disabilities of group I or II:

  • Provided that such persons do not have other able-bodied persons obliged to support them.

3. Accompanying a person with a disability of group I or II:

  • The spouse provides full-time care for this person.

4. Accompanying a child with a disability:

  • A minor child with a disability.
  • An adult child with a disability of group I or II.
  • Provided that the man is a parent, guardian, custodian, foster parent or foster parent.

5. Accompanying a person with a disability recognized by a court as incapacitated:

  • A man is his guardian or a family member (in the absence of a guardian).

Documents required:

1. Documents confirming family ties:

  • Marriage certificate.
  • Birth certificate.
  • Certificate of paternity.

2. Documents confirming the disability of the accompanied person:

  • Certificate to the act of examination by the medical and social expert commission (MSEC).
  • Pension certificate.
  • A document on the appointment of social assistance.

3. Documents confirming the permanent care of the person:

  • A document on receiving compensation for care.
  • An act of establishing the fact of care.
  • The conclusion of a medical institution on the need for constant care.

Required documents:

  • Prepare all necessary documents in advance in the form of originals or notarized copies.
  • Check with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine for current border crossing requirements.

Recommendations:

  • A man accompanying a person with a disability is obliged to return to Ukraine no later than the accompanied person.

Important restrictions:

  • Men can travel unaccompanied by the specified persons if these persons are registered with the consulate abroad.
  • Additional document: Certificate of registration of the accompanied person with the consulate.
