Who is obliged to register for military service abroad?

All citizens of Ukraine liable for military service who are temporarily or permanently residing outside Ukraine are required to register for military service at the diplomatic missions of Ukraine abroad.

The main categories of persons are:

1. Conscripts:

  • Men aged 16 (in the year of reaching 17) to 27 who have not served in the armed forces.

2. Persons liable for military service:

  • Men between the ages of 18 and 60 (up to 65 for officers) who are in the reserve or have completed their military service.

3. Reservists:

  • Persons enrolled in the military reserve.

4. Women:

  • Women who have a medical or pharmaceutical speciality.
  • Women of other specialities who have voluntarily registered for military service in Ukraine.

Duties:

  • Within 7 days of arrival in the country of residence, notify the consular office of Ukraine of the change of residence and register.
  • Provide documents confirming military duty (military ID card or temporary certificate of a person liable for military service).

Important: In case of returning to Ukraine or changing their place of residence abroad, citizens are obliged to notify the diplomatic mission of the change in circumstances.
