Who has the right to provide constant care for the elderly on a non-professional basis?

Share

Continuous care can be provided on a non-professional basis:

1. Family members of the person in need of care, provided that they

  • live together with the person in need of care;
  • are connected by a common household;
  • have mutual rights and obligations (e.g., obligations of parents and children to provide financial support or care).

2. Other persons who provide care on a voluntary basis, but without undergoing special training and compliance with state standards of social services.

Care on a non-professional basis is provided without formalising an employment relationship and does not require mandatory certification or qualifications.
