Where is registration of the birth performed?

Places of registration:

• Registration of the birth of a child is carried out by the state civil registry office (registry office) at:
• place of birth of the child;
• place of residence of parents or one of them.

Peculiarities of registration:

• The civil registry office has no right to refuse to register a birth, even if it believes that it is more appropriate to do so in another office.
• The birth of a child can be registered at the nearest working civil registry office, regardless of the place of residence or birth of the child.

Alternative way:

• Birth registration can be done online using the eMalyatko service through the Diia portal or through the eMalyatko administrator at the maternity hospital.
