Is it currently possible to receive compensation from the state for the destroyed housing?

Share

For example, Ukraine currently has a compensation program for destroyed housing due to hostilities called eVidnovlennia (eRecovery). Owners of destroyed housing can receive compensation in the form of a housing certificate that allows them to purchase new housing.

How to get compensation:

  1. Submit an application: Register or log in to the Diia portal and submit an application for compensation for destroyed property. This can also be done through an Administrative Services Center (ASC) or a notary.
  2. Consideration of the application: A special commission will review your application and determine the amount of compensation, taking into account the characteristics of the destroyed housing and the average cost per square meter in the secondary market of the region.
  3. Receiving a certificate: Once the compensation amount is approved, you will receive a housing certificate that can be used to purchase a new home. You will be notified when the certificate is ready in the Diia app.

Important conditions:

  • Compensation is provided for destroyed housing that cannot be restored and is located in the unoccupied territory where active hostilities are not taking place.
  • The application can be submitted by a person who has the right of ownership of the destroyed housing.
  • If the dwelling was destroyed in a community located in a combat zone, but the security situation allows the commission to conduct an inspection, compensation is also possible.

More detailed information and instructions can be found on the official Diia portal.
