What is the process of obtaining a driver's license for IDPs?

Internally displaced persons (IDPs) can obtain a driver's license in the general procedure. The place of registration or residence does not affect the possibility of applying to the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The procedure for obtaining a driver's license:

  1. Enroll in a driving school (if necessary):
  • Choose a driving school that is licensed to teach drivers.
  • The driving school provides training in theory and practice according to the category you choose.
  1. Graduation from the driving school:
  • After completing your studies, successfully pass the internal exams in the theory and practical parts.
  • Get a certificate of completion of the driving school.
  1. Contact a service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs:
  • Submit the documents to take the exams and get a driver's license.
  1. Take the exams at a service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs:
  • Theoretical exam.
  • Practical exam (after passing the theoretical exam).
  1. Obtaining a driver's license:
  • If you pass the exams, you will receive a driver's license.

Documents for obtaining a driver's license:

  1. Passport of a citizen of Ukraine (or ID-card).
  2. IDP certificate (to confirm the status).
  3. Identification code (TIN).
  4. Certificate of graduation from a driving school.
  5. Medical certificate of the established form (form 083/о).

Specifics for IDPs:

  • The place of registration or declared residence does not limit the right to apply to any service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
  • During martial law, you can receive services at the nearest MIA center, regardless of your declared place of residence.
