Early education, primary and secondary schools

Ukrainian children have the right to education in Romanian kindergartens and schools under the same conditions as Romanian citizens.

To enroll your child in a kindergarten or school, you need to contact the School Inspectorate. You can review the list of contact information for all school inspectorates in Romania here.

Higher education

If displaced individuals from Ukraine are under protection in Romania, they can apply for recognition of their education by following the procedures outlined at https://cnred.edu.ro/en/ukrainian-citizens

If you wish to continue your studies, you must submit an application directly to the universities.

If you are unable to provide educational documents, you can obtain the European Qualifications Passport for Refugees. To do this, contact CNRED. The European Qualifications Passport for Refugees provides information about academic preparation, professional experience, and language proficiency. This information may be relevant if a refugee wishes to find employment, undergo an internship, attend a qualification course, or enroll in a college.

Enrollment into the Romanian education system as a student of Ukrainian youth is done under conditions similar to those established for Romanian students. It is necessary to go through several stages of assessing the student's competence, including knowledge of the Romanian language.
