In what cases can the payment of compensation for providing continuous care on a non-professional basis be suspended?

Share

The payment of compensation for non-professional care may be suspended in the following cases:

1. Missing a regular medical examination:

  • If the person in need of care fails to undergo a regular medical examination by a medical advisory commission (MAC) or medical and social expert commission (MSEC) in time to confirm the need for permanent care.

2. Temporary absence of a caregiver:

  • For example, if the caregiver is away for a long period of time or has stopped providing care for other reasons.

3. Failure to provide an examination report or updated documents:

  • Social security authorities may require proof of the actual fact of care (a housing inspection report or other documents).

Grounds for suspension of payment on a professional basis:

On an occupational basis, the payment of compensation is suspended if:

1. Failure to submit or improper execution of an act on social services provided (monthly act confirming the provision of care).

2. Violation of the deadlines for submitting the act:

  • If the act is not submitted on time, the payment of compensation is suspended until the duly executed document is submitted.
  • After submitting the certificate, the payment is resumed from the month for which the social services were provided.

Important! All cases of suspension of payments on a non-professional and professional basis are controlled by the social protection authorities.
