Social aid

 

To ensure the minimum needs and livelihoods of Ukrainians with temporary protection, municipalities can provide social aid, which can be either one-time or periodic. This aid may include financial assistance for children (up to 18 years of age as a rule, up to 23 years of age if the child is studying at a higher education institution), payments to pregnant women, hygiene kits and food packages. In addition, you can receive compensation for the costs of heating your home, hot water and drinking water.

 

To receive social aid, you need to apply to the local municipality where you live.

 

Accommodation

 

Refugees from Ukraine can use AirBNB accommodation and stay for 7 to 30 days free of charge upon arrival in the Republic of Lithuania. To do this, you need to contact the International Organization for Migration by phone +37061516930 or by e-mail [email protected]

 

In addition, you can stay free of charge in an apartment voluntarily provided to Ukrainian refugees by citizens of the Republic of Lithuania for up to 3 months. Psychological help

 

People affected by the hostilities in Ukraine can get free emotional support by calling 1809 or +37066465792.

 

The Manodaktaras Association of Doctors provides free psychological help to the population of Ukraine in the format of video consultations with qualified psychologists. In order to get a free remote consultation, you need to apply by following the link.

 

Supporting children's growth

 

Weekend camps and free clubs are available for Ukrainian children in the country. Such events are held regularly, and you can follow them by following the link.

 

Humanitarian aid

 

In the Republic of Lithuania, a humanitarian aid hotline operates around the clock, which you can contact by phone at +37068498688. Ukrainians can receive humanitarian aid from such organizations as:

 

o  Maisto bankas (Food Bank) issues cards for the purchase of food, to register for the program, follow the link;

Legal aid

Learning Lithuanian language

 

Vytautas Magnus University offers short free intensive courses of basic language (30 academic hours) from the very beginning. Classes will be held both online and offline according to the schedule. You can register for the courses by following the link.

 

In addition, free Lithuanian language courses can be found in every municipality of the country.

 

If you want to learn the language on your own, you can use interactive Lithuanian learning sites:

o  Let's be Friends - an interactive course for beginners.

 

The Educational Equality Institute offers Ukrainians free language courses in English, Lithuanian, French, German, Spanish, Swedish, and other languages. You can register by following the link.

 

Free transportation

 

The passenger transportation company "LTG Link" provides free transportation to Ukrainian refugees. To use the railroad services, you need to provide a passport of a citizen of Ukraine and confirmation of registration from the Migration Center. Free travel will be available for three months after the registration card is issued. You can order tickets on the company's website by following the link.

 

Lithuanian cities provide Ukrainians with the right to use city public transportation free of charge. During the trip, you have to provide the controllers with an identity document.

 

Free tickets to museums

 

The Lithuanian cities Vilnius and Klaipeda allow Ukrainians to visit museums free of charge, a list of which can be found at the following link (for Vilnius) and the following link (for Klaipeda). 

 

In addition, Ukrainian refugees can visit some of the country's theaters and philharmonic houses free of charge, but the possibility of getting a free ticket should be checked with each cultural institution independently.
