1. Contacting a financial institution

  • Send an application or complaint to the head of the financial institution.
  • In the complaint:
  • Describe the specific actions of the institution that you consider unlawful.
  • Argue why these actions are contrary to the law or your rights.
  • Demand an official response and resolution of the issue.

2. Appeal to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU)

  • If the financial institution does not respond within a month or does not resolve the issue, file a complaint with the NBU.
  • In the complaint:
  • Briefly state the essence of the violation of your rights.
  • Indicate whether you have contacted the financial institution and attach relevant copies of documents (applications, responses, etc.).
  • You can file a complaint via the NBU's official website or in writing.

3. Contacting law enforcement authorities

  • If you believe that the actions of a financial institution constitute a criminal offence (e.g. fraud or coercion to fulfil illegal conditions), contact the police or prosecutor's office.
  • In your complaint, please state:
  • Specific actions of the financial institution that you consider unlawful.
  • Evidence or documents to support your allegations.

4. Consultation with a lawyer

  • In case of a difficult situation or lack of results after your appeals to the financial institution or the NBU, it is recommended to consult a lawyer to determine further actions.
