Share

Thus, a person who provides permanent care for an elderly person has the right to travel abroad, provided that he or she has the relevant documents confirming the care and the need for it.

Conditions and required documents:

1. If you are accompanying a person who needs constant care:

  • Certificate/record of compensation or allowance for care (if you are an official carer);
  • Conclusion of the medical commission on the need for constant care;
  • An act of establishing the fact of care provided by local executive authorities;
  • Documents on disability (if you are caring for a person with a disability).

2. If care is provided for a family member (e.g. parents, spouse, children):

  • A document confirming family ties (passport, birth or marriage certificate, etc.);
  • Conclusion of the medical advisory commission on the need for permanent care.

Important:

  • Border guards may require additional documents depending on the circumstances and place of border crossing.
  • The documents must be originals or notarised copies.

The detailed conditions depend on the individual situation, so it is recommended to clarify the requirements in advance with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine or consular offices.
