Does the guardian have the right to receive social benefits in connection with the implementation of guardianship?

A guardian in the interests of a disabled person has the right to receive social aid. 

The guardian should submit an application for the appointment of social aid to the social protection authorities at the place of residence of the guardian or at the place of residence of the person for whom guardianship is established.


The following documents are also required for the submitting of the relevant application for social aid:


  • The passport of a citizen of Ukraine, employment record book, and taxpayer identification number card.
  • Declaration of income and property status of persons for the purpose of social aid (if necessary).
  • Information about the family is to be provided in the declaration (if necessary).
  • A copy of the court decision declaring an incapacitated person (for an incapacitated person).
  • A copy of the decision appointing a guardian (for an incapacitated person for whom a guardian has been appointed).
  • A copy of the document confirming the authority of the representative.
