According to the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, more than 650 people have already received approval for compensation for destroyed housing thanks to the remote assessment mechanism. This demonstrates that the process can be both safe and effective for applicants seeking assistance.

To make the system even more accurate and faster, the Ministry has adopted a new resolution that improves the mechanism for remote housing assessment in areas where hostilities are ongoing or may resume. The resolution has already been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

Key Changes

In evaluating the introduced changes, it is impossible not to highlight the potentially positive impact of defining clear timelines for conducting remote assessments, as well as specifying how these timelines are calculated in the event of suspension or resumption. Previously, uncertainty regarding assessment timelines created significant room for potential abuses by commissions, unjustified delays in damage evaluation, and often even forced applicants to turn to the courts to challenge commission inactivity in order to compel them to exercise their statutory powers.

According to the Ministry, these changes will support more efficient implementation of remote assessments under the eVidnovlennia program, making the procedure more flexible, quicker to implement, and better adapted to conditions of active hostilities.
