Olha* turned to the lawyer of the reception center of the NGO “MART”, a DRC partner, in Nizhyn. She has been living in Germany for the past 15 years and has Ukrainian citizenship. When she moved, Olga lost her diploma of higher education, which was issued by Nizhyn State University back in 2004.
The lawyer contacted a responsible person from the Department of Foreign Languages at Nizhyn State University. It was found out that in order to obtain a duplicate diploma, it was necessary to submit a corresponding application to the rector of the educational institution, to which copies of the passport, marriage certificate and diploma supplement should be attached.
Such an application, if you are abroad, can be sent to the university's e-mail. In addition, an administrative fee of 234 hryvnias must be paid for the issuance of a duplicate diploma. Also, during the conversation with the employee of the institution, the lawyer checked the archived list of students of the Department of Foreign Languages for 2004 and confirmed the availability of information about the issuance of Olga's diploma.
After a duplicate diploma was made, Olga's mother picked it up at the university and sent it to Germany. Now the woman will be able to confirm her qualification level in Germany and will have the opportunity to find a job in her specialty.
The legal support was provided as part of a project implemented by the NGO MART in cooperation with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) with financial support from the European Union's civil protection and humanitarian assistance.
