Thanks to the support of a lawyer, a pensioner from Chernihiv region managed to resolve a conflict with a tenant of her land plots.
Ms. Liubov worked for a long time at a collective farm and is now retired. During her work, she was injured and has a disability. Liubov owns land plots that she leased to farmers, but when she decided to raise the rent, she was sharply refused.
In the context of the humanitarian crisis and martial law, it was the additional income received from renting land plots that became an important support for Lyubov. To resolve the conflict with the tenants, she sought legal advice from a lawyer at the MART public reception center. After examining the documents, the lawyer confirmed Lyubov's suspicions - there were no legal grounds to ignore her demands as the owner of the land plots.
In addition, this year the land lease agreements previously concluded by the parties will expire, so the lessee may lose the right to use the plots altogether.
The lawyer decided to mediate the conflict and explain Lyubov's position to the tenants, as a result of which they agreed to enter into a new agreement with a halved term and a twofold increase in the rent.
Resolving the situation helped Lyubov to defend her legitimate interests and receive additional financial support in these difficult times.
Free legal aid is provided by the NGO “MART” in cooperation with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) with funding from the European Union.
