Receiving compensation for destroyed housing.

Artem*, a resident of Poltava, lost his house in a shelling that completely destroyed it. The tragedy took the life of his wife, and now the man is left alone with two young daughters. In this difficult time, he needed support to receive compensation for his destroyed home, as well as assistance in preparing all the necessary documents.

Daria Malinnikova, a lawyer from the NGO Institute for Analysis and Advocacy, offered Artem full legal support. In the process, it turned out that the ownership of the house was not registered in the State Register. So Daria accompanied Volodymyr to the Center for Administrative Services to enter the necessary data about the house into the State Register of Real Property Rights (SRRP).

After that, the lawyer helped the man apply to the Poltava City Council, where a commission inspected his home and issued an act of actual destruction of the house. Thanks to this document, the commission decided to provide Artem with compensation. He was given a housing certificate that can be used to purchase a new home so that he and his daughters can meet their basic need for shelter.

The organization “Institute for Analysis and Advocacy” provides free legal aid in Poltava region through cooperation with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and funding from the European Union.
