One of the most pressing issues in recent months has been military registration abroad, its procedure, and most importantly, fines and penalties for late data updates. This social problem is of concern not only to men, but also to women of certain professions, such as doctors and pharmacists, who are also subject to military service. A detailed review of all the details will allow you to understand the nuances of the procedure and to think about your own further strategy.

Who needs to be registered

According to the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution, military registration abroad applies to all men of military age. Otherwise, consular services will be limited and a fine is likely to be imposed: from 17 to 25 thousand hryvnias. Forced return to the country is not yet envisaged, and it is unlikely that anything will change in the near future.

Data update for women

Currently, restrictions on border crossings apply exclusively to men. Despite women's military registration, they are not restricted from traveling abroad, and conscription is exclusively voluntary. Accordingly, those who live outside Ukraine can safely come to the country and leave it at any time. But the obligation to update the data is still relevant.

Registration abroad

Initially, the resolution provided for returning home and applying to the TCC at the place of residence or regional SBU offices. But this requirement of the authorities did not receive a proper response, so the procedure was simplified many times over. How to register for military service abroad? The algorithm of actions is as follows:

  1. Contact the diplomatic mission in the country of current residence.
  2. Provide a foreign passport.
  3. Fill out the application in a free form.
  4. Provide details of the military registration document, specialty number and rank.

All this can be done either in person or by registered mail, sending copies of documents. Within a week of receiving the application, the information will be transmitted to the TCC by e-mail.

Features of special military accounting

Citizens who are booked to perform certain tasks in accordance with their professional activities are not deregistered. Therefore, special military registration does not provide complete freedom of movement: travel abroad may be restricted. In this case, it is necessary to obtain the appropriate permits: it is important to clarify all the details so that no difficulties arise when trying to leave Ukraine.

Military registration for minors

This requirement is valid from the moment you reach the age of 16. The procedure is identical:

  • contact the consulate;
  • submit a copy of your passport;
  • fill out an application.

As with military registration for women abroad, the update does not impose any restrictions on minors - they can freely enter and leave Ukraine.
