Yulia, a mother of two minor children and an internally displaced person, turned to Vladyslava Lomakina, a lawyer at the Institute for Analysis and Advocacy, a partner of DRC, for divorce and child support. Her husband has a group 3 disability and receives a pension of UAH 2,100.
Vladyslava filed a lawsuit for divorce with the court, which the court fully satisfied. After that, the lawyer filed an application for a court order to recover alimony.
As a result, the court took the application for consideration and issued an order to recover from the father of two minor children alimony for their maintenance in the amount of 1/3 of all types of earnings (income) per month, but not less than 50% of the subsistence minimum for a child of the corresponding age, and not more than ten subsistence minimums for a child of the corresponding age until the children reach the age of majority.
The provision of free legal aid was made possible thanks to the cooperation of the NGO “Institute for Analysis and Advocacy” with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and funding from the European Union's civil protection and humanitarian assistance.
